Every decent vaping brand has a vape mod that can power up to 220 W — but what if you could have a mod that gives you the option of using dual 18650 batteries or running a quad 18650 to power up to 350 W?

The new GX 2/4 kit has been called “The Transformer” of mods by Vaping 360, and we would have to agree wholeheartedly. The GX 2/4 kit is a box mod from the popular SMOK brand. Offering users the options of both dual 18650 as well as quad 18650 battery performance, the GX 2/4 is essentially a SMOK Alien II and an Alien IV in one device.

Dual and Quad Modes

You can use two of the 18650 batteries to power up to 220 watts — you can also add two additional 19650 batteries to the mod by replacing the battery cover. This quad mode extends battery life and allows the user to power up to 350 watts, which is an incredible option for expert vapers.

The TFV8 Big Baby

The tank that is paired with the GX 2/4 is the almighty TFV8 Big Baby tank, which has an excellent capacity of 5 mL (2 mL in the EU).

The GX 2/4 kit will give you two different coils to start you off — you can choose which coil type you prefer, depending on your PG/VG ratio, preferred wattage, and the level of sub-ohm you prefer.

Included in your kit are the Q2 and T8. The Q2 dual coil has a resistance of 0.4 ohm and the T8 is a 0.15 ohm octuple coil. When in VW mode, users will enjoy a 0.1 — 3.0 ohm resistance range; and when in TC mode, users will have a range of 0.06 — 3.0 ohm.

The paint job on this mod is a powder coating as opposed to an anodized finish. The firing band is quite large, spanning the length of the mod. Similar to the bar on the H-Priv, it is easy to press (however, it does not click), and the reach is very natural.

fire button

Both of the battery panels hinge at the top of the mod and have a button release on the underside of the mod that keeps them in place. When used in dual 18650 mode, the mod is actually very slim. The battery door will click into place and fits nicely in the hand. When used in quad 18650 mode, the mod becomes a bit bulkier, of course. Therefore, if you plan on using this beast in quad battery mode, be sure that you are comfortable with a large mod — take a look at the dimensions under the “specifications” section above.

There is one thing we take issue with: the button release that is located on the underside of the mod prevents it from sitting flat — this is somewhat awkward and we would feel better if the we could sit the GX 2/4 down flat, where it is more stable.

The SMOK Gx 2/4 mod is available on SMOK’s website inside of their store for $84.99, but you can find it for less at other online retailers such as the ones found in the links below. Be sure you purchase the batteries and e-juice you need for this vape mod, as the kit does not include the batteries or e-liquid. Everything else you need to get started is included, however.
